"Quality education means more than hundreds of pages of reading
and difficult tests. Here at GLCC it means missions trips, relationships,
developing a heart for service, spiritual formation through Chapel
and small groups, and the accomplishment of graduation-sending the
students out to be servant-leaders in the church and the world."
Over a generation ago, men of God were deeply concerned with the
lack of vitality and the shrinking numbers of Christian Churches/Churches
of Christ in Michigan. Their concern led to plans for founding Great
Lakes Bible College, which came into being in 1949 at Rock Lake,
near Vestaburg, Michigan.In 1970, the College purchased a forty-acre
site on the west edge of Lansing, and the first buildings were constructed
for use in 1972. Additional land was added later, and facilities
have been constructed as needed. In 1992, the College's name was
changed to Great Lakes Christian College.

The Woodburn Christian Children's Home is a ministry of Christian
Churches and Churches of Christ. Since 1972, this special home has
provided a Christian family environment for children who are homeless
or who have other special needs. Throughout these years more than
150 young people (ages 6-21) have been a part of our family. Some
of these young people have been reunited with their families, some
are in college and others have Christian families of their own.
